Our Eco-Schools Green Heroes and Monarch Heroes had a very
productive week in STEM lab! Kinder conducted a campus clean-up, 1st,
and 2nd started painting the pallets anchored in the garden as
chrysalis shelters and began clearing the rock garden for the new walkways. In
the STEM lab these groups created their own mats and obstacle courses for
BeeBots and worked on math, spelling, coding, and spatial reasoning problems
with OSMO. Friday everyone let their imaginations run wild creating
masterpieces in LEGO, chain reactions, Keva blocks, and everything else in the
lab on Free Build Friday!
3rd grade made outstanding progress on their
Code.org course work and graduates enjoyed painting with the Spheros! This group also
worked on pieces for their grade level Earth Day project – no pictures! This
one is going to be a surprise for the whole campus when it is unveiled!
On Monday Ms. Moreno’s class made a quick trip back to the
lab to wrap up their constellation projects. Then this week’s 4th
and 5th grade classes had their turn to set up personal BrainPOP
accounts and learned to use the Make-A-Map, Make-A-Movie, Sortify, and Game Up
with Snap Thoughts features. Both grades also put in some excellent work on
their grade level Earth Day projects!
