Week 18 1/29
We had a fantastic week! Students made wonderful progress
with all kinds of projects: plays, pop-up cards, interactive health displays,
and of course, cardboard arcade!

Everyone K-5 worked in their Code.org courses; we celebrated
Adonay finishing Course C!
2nd grade is hard at work on their G/T Expo
projects for Family Math and Science Health Fitness Fair. They have been researching
the effect of exercise on the heart. They learned to measure their pulse and
collected data on their resting pulse rates and then measured again after a
variety of exercises. Come to the Health Fair to see their data and discover
what they learned! They also decided to write a play to show how the
circulatory system works. The STEM / STEAM lab has been a hive of set and
costume production, mini play writing workshops, and rehearsals!
3rd grade made pop-up Valentines for their favorites
from STEM lab – there is a lot of love for LEGO, Minecraft, Code.org, and
Scratch in this class!
4th and 5th grade produced a very creative
set of cardboard arcade games this week! They invited Ms. Colmenero and Ms.
Caro’s Kindergarten classes to come play and we all had a wonderful time! I can’t
wait to see what next week will bring!
